1. I am doing well at being more motivated in class as well out completely our assignments.
2. I am not doing well at taking extra notes while I do the reading. I fill in the study guides but need to make more notes for myself to help me on the test.
3. I am making okay progress on my goals. I need to strive to complete those goals more though.
4. I need to start studying on a weekly bases instead of the week of the test. I need to read more thoroughly and participate in class more often.
5. My motivation is average, I do need to have more motivation for this class. This is my busiest semester thus far so there's a huge focus on time management for each class and I need to make more time for this class. I am trying to focus on performance goals just to stay caught up and make sure I'm learning the things I need to. I do need to change the things listed above which I will work on doing this week :)

Educational Neuroscience Blog
Marilee Sprenger currently has four different books in publication which consists of How to Teach so Students Remember, The Brain in Action, Becoming A Wiz at Brain Based Teaching, and Differentiation Through Learning Styles and Memory. Her books focus on brain based teaching and she does the best job of translating brain research into classroom practice. She is known for finding ways to retain information by putting it in the long term memory. She goes on and talks about the steps that you need to take in order for you to properly store information in your long term memory when needed and the importance of learning the correct way to do so.
Obviously it is very important for students to figure out how to store information in their long term memory. Marilee states that if we learn how memory works and how to apply that knowledge, then we are able to help students become successful learners. The more we know and understand about the brain as teachers, the more we are able to educate our students about it. Marilee focuses on understanding the different types of memory how to access each for instruction, and how to create assessments that match. As information is being uncovered, studies have shown that the cognitive neurosciences are providing us with an unprecedented understanding of both the organization and growth of the brain.
I've found that a lot of Marilee's information will very useful to me as a teacher and for my own benefit personally as I have struggled with memory loss. A lot of her information and research is something that I will definitely use when I am teaching my own students how to retain information and place it in their long term memory. As a student I would have loved to have learned the information that she has researched in how to remember more easily. In my life and for the last year of college I will focus on her steps for long term memorization in helping me, it will benefit me greatly and I am glad that I was able to learn some of the information Marilee Sprenger has developed.

Motivation Blog
I am in the teacher education program because I can't wait to teach my students what I have learned through out my life. I grew up playing sports constantly and I want to teach my future students how much fun you can have, how much you can learn, and help them find what they are most interested in doing when it comes to being active. I am enrolled in this class and at UVU so that I can complete my education and graduate, and move on to be a teacher and a coach in the next stage of my life.
I succeed in my my life when I am fully motivated and committed to what it is I am doing. I have noticed in school that when I fail or don't do as well, I try to figure out why and change what I need to so that next time I am able to succeed.
The goals in my course reflect Performance Orientation. I play sports and stay active because I want to get something out of it. I want to have fun, or get a good work out, etc. This shows that I am going in to my profession to continue to enjoy being active and to teach others how to be motivated as well.
For this class, I need to change by being more motivated in getting as much as I can out of this class and not just getting by on average. I want to complete this class feeling like I did everything I could to succeed in helping me be a better teacher when I graduate.
